MRA advised The Peterson Companies from 1994 through 2008 on the brand identity development and destination programming of “National Harbor”, an urban waterfront resort and destination along the Potomac River. The 400-acre complex, located just 20 minutes from the nation’s capital, features a 450,000 sf convention center, a 2,000-room convention hotel, 4 other hotels, 4000 residential units, a marina and 18 signature dining and entertainment offerings.
The identity strategy focused on creating Washington’s quintessential waterfront experience. MRA developed an integrated brand engagement program which included special iconic features, art work, place settings, venues, a year round events program, and a fully integrated media and Illumination program along the mile-long waterfront promenade and “American Way”, the central boulevard of the project.
